Question:

To what extent does science and math explain arts ?

Here is a video on YouTube about "Music and Measure Theory"

It shows the connection between classical puzzle about rational numbers and what makes music harmonious, which explains art using mathematical ideas.

After watching this video, I thought there are many other cases, which scientists or mathematicians try to explain arts using logical and rational thinking. For example, the golden ratio, anatomy, and hue for visual arts; Equal temperament, aerodynamics, and material engineering for music, etc.

So, I came up a TOK question that " In what extent does science and math explain arts?"

This is a great video, connecting two areas of knowledge: Maths & Arts. You are passionate about both. Yor question: "In what extent does science and math explain arts?" Is it "In what extent?" or "To what extent?" Why are you adding science in here it is confusing/ complicating the question. Is it does or can? Think about refining the wording for this question, David. It is a good start but refinement is needed.

Art and music always have a close relationship, Artist like Da Vinci used his life to answer your question, Nice work, well done!
